The real "No Fear" As we saw yesterday, Love drives out Fear! Easy to say, harder to experience sometimes. But that is why you are reading this now. You need a strong dose of love. Don't be embarrassed, everyone does, and everyone can use more love. Two kinds of love - Vertical and Horizontal. Vertical is the Love that comes from GOD and horizontal comes from other people. The most famous Bible Verse known (John 3:16) starts with "For GOD so loved the world . . . " Everything that JESUS and the FATHER and the SPIRIT do is motivated by love. This vertical love is so vital! And it must come first in our lives. When we understand and assimilate HIS love for us, then and only then will the horizontal forms of love be totally satisfying and nurturing. When we are grounded in the Love of our CREATOR, we are secure and we lose the dread-fear of the future. Then we are ready to be functional in our relationships with others, be that spousal, family or friendship. Both kinds of love are vital to our existence. Our GOD is a relationship-GOD. Marriage, family and friendship are all HIS inventions. HE wants them available for us. That is why being involved with other people of like faith (read: the local church) is so important. Sometimes people have no biological family and maybe few friends available. But all of us have access to at least a handful of others who love JESUS. Allow yourself to be immersed in the Family of GOD.
