1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment.  He that fears is not made perfect in love.

The real "No Fear"
(Part One)
Fred Schwenk

There is a saying in Pop Culture which purports to state the intensely powerful nature of the bearers character.  And it says,

  No Fear

If you know anyone that bears this phrase on a tee-shirt, bumper sticker or poster, you probably already know that it only reflects wishful thinking on their part.  There is still lots of fear to go around.

In fact, this world is so full of fear, that I don't think I have to convince anyone.  I don't need to list the fearful things that exist, because you probably already have your own list.

It is normal (in the world's way) to be fearful.  One short disclaimer:  All fear is not bad.  To be in the middle of a superhighway, trying to cross with traffic bearing down on you, is a valid source of fear.  This type of fear causes adrenalin to flow and will save your life.

The class of fear referred to in our Scripture verse is more specifically dread.  From the Encarta Dictionary, dread is:

To feel extremely frightened: to feel extremely frightened or worried about something that may happen in the future

Understand that this type of fear is strongly opposed by GOD'S Word.  Also understand that this teaching is not intended to make you feel guilty or condemned because you have fear.  But since fear is such a dangerous and damaging emotion, when in the form of dread, it behooves us to learn what the SPIRIT says about it.

Here is the short version . . . .   Let love replace fearSimple in the saying, harder in the doing.  But it is not impossible to rid our lives of unnecessary fear.

Something to think about -   When love is not present in our lives, fear creeps in to fill the void.  And in the reverse, as love fills us, fear leaves us.  Simple?  Yes!

Go ahead and . . . . .  get love saturated!
