Some friends at school are talking about someone in the lunch line, telling you things that that person is supposedly to have done to make them an "outcast" in their eyes, now your sitting there listening to their gossip and have a particular piece of information you know they would just kill to add to their list of "shameful deeds".  What do you think you should do?  Should you fall into the trap laid for you and gossip with your friends?  They are after-all your friends.

Or lets look at sin from a sexual perspective, your same group of friends are pouring over a magazine that show the opposite sex in compromising to say the least, positions.  What do you do?  Should you fall into the trap laid for you and continue to gawk with your pals?  The best thing to do in both of these situations is to just get up and leave, just walk out of the room.

These things, these sins, they are what is common to mankind these are the things we as a whole people have been struggling with for so long that Paul was cautioning believers against falling into in Corinthians.
