Unfailing Love

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed,
yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor My covenant of peace be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you."
Isaiah 54:10

 

The LORD is saying that a promise is a promise.  He won't go back on His word just because we aren't always faithful to our word.  Have you told a friend something in confidence and then made them swear never to repeat it, but then turn right around and start spreading a rumor about you?  GOD isn't like that, He makes a promise, He keeps it.  Period, the end, bye bye, that's all folks, the fat lady has sung.  GOD is true to His word, and it is saying that His unfailing love will never let us down.

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed" This sounds to me as if GOD'S unfailing love will withstand anything the world can throw at us.  How come whatever Satan, the world, or our so called friends throw at us cannot withstand GOD'S unfailing love for us?  GOD'S unfailing love is just that, UNFAILING. It can never be destroyed by mans devices.

"My covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you."  This too is why His ways can withstand the ways of the world.  He has made a covenant, just as He had in the days of Noah when He promised never to flood the earth again. We have a history of GOD being good to His Word.  Why would He make a promise then and break it today, He wouldn't!  Remember, a promise is a promise with the LORD.

The truth has been shown to you through the Son, what are you going to get up and do about it?

"All who call upon the Name of the LORD will be saved."
Romans 10:13
