Are You Having Problems
With
Immorality?

Welcome and let me thank you in the Name of JESUS for having the courage to come to this page.  My name is Fred Schwenk and I am on staff at PraiseNation.  Since you are here, I assume that you are struggling with immorality and wish to be free of this.  For the purpose of our conversation, I will address the topic in general and try to bring a focus and foundation for healing and being free.

All immorality has the same formula for destruction in a person's life whether it is manifest in sexuality, dishonesty, thievery or any other form.  I will be addressing the realm of sexual immorality, but the same principles hold true no matter the form.

First, if you are at this point, you are most likely under a heavy load of guilt and condemnation.  Some quick Scripture:


Romans 8:34 
"Who then will condemn us? Will Christ Jesus?  No, for HE is the one who died for us and was raised to life for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to GOD, pleading for us."


It is important to get out from under the condemnation that you are feeling.  You may not feel that you are worthy and you are not!  But neither am I or anyone else.  Not saying that sin is OK.  It's not.  It is a killer.  But JESUS came to destroy SIN not SINNERS.  If the enemy (Satan) can keep you feeling unworthy he has you on the shelf.

Second, You must right now (Did I say not later?) confess ALL your sins that you can to GOD!  Now I don't mean every event, but in the areas in which you are failing, be honest with GOD.  Do not make the mistake of justifying ANYTHING!  Sin is sin.  Call it sin and then it can be dealt with.  It is not a disease, a problem or an issue.  It is sin.  That is good news because (more Scripture)

1 John 1:9
"But if we confess our sins to HIM, HE is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong."

What a wonderful Word from GOD.  Do it before we go any further - Confess - Receive forgiveness - Receive cleansing.

Third.  You are now clean according to the Word of GOD.  Doesn't matter how you feel.  You are clean.  The devil will tell you you're not, but you are.  He is a liar.  

There are three steps you must take to stay clean.

1.  Immorality is like a fire.  Fire will burn until it is put out.  If you light a blowtorch and try to blow it out, you will find that it will not go out.  And you may get burned it the process.  The only way to put the fire out is to shut off the source.  

For instance, if you are looking at pornography, you must stop.  The real problem is the mind and the thoughts it harbors.  The GREAT SPIRIT of GOD will be taking you through a healing process that may take a while.  You can help by not re-lighting the fire.  If you are committing acts of immorality, you must stop.  Same reasons as the pornography.

2.  Determine that you will keep yourself from areas of temptation.  If you are viewing pornography on the internet and can't seem to stop, try a filtered provider.  We will be glad to recommend one if you like.   

3.  Find help in good Pastor and/or a Licensed Biblical Counselor.  You will need someone to talk to.  Do not avoid this step.  It is crucial.

Last, but not least, let's pray.  Here is some Scripture to build faith:

John 8:36
"So if the SON (JESUS) sets you free, you will indeed be free."


Let's Pray.  Repeat this out loud:  Dear FATHER, I confess my sin to you (name the sin).  I thank You that according to 1 John 1:9 You have forgiven me and cleansed me.  I am Your child!  I ask to be free from immorality in the following areas (name the areas).

I ask YOU, HOLY SPIRIT to take charge of my healing and do whatever You need to do in me to set me permanently free!  

Thank you and Praise You Holy and Loving FATHER, AMEN!

Satan and demons, I tell you that I am not your property.  I refuse to be a part of your plans anymore.  I take the authority that is given to me through the Powerful Name of JESUS  my LORD and SAVIOR, and I resist you so YOU MUST FLEE according to the Word of GOD!

One last thought:  If for some reason you slip back, do not accept the lie of the enemy that you have failed.  Pick yourself up and repeat the above as many times as it takes!
