Welcome to Page 4 on the topic of Addictions it is obvious that you are asking for help. You have begun a journey that JESUS will walk with you.  HE will not turn back, and HE will not let it be so hard that you will fail!  JESUS will be your strength.  

 

"But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And GOD is faithful. HE will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, HE will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

Truth C - Addictions are defeated by removing the "root".

 Always beginning and ending with - 1 Corinthians 10:13 - 

1 Corinthians 10:13
"But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And GOD is faithful. HE will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, HE will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it."

The following is true and vital to deliverance from your Addictions -
 
* You are not alone.

The temptation you feel is just like the rest of the people on the face of the earth.  Yielding to temptation makes it appear stronger just as resisting it will decrease the strength.
 
* GOD IS FAITHFUL.

HE is the ONE who delivers.  It is not based on human effort, although it will require your cooperation with the LORD.
 
*  GOD promises that you can resist.

Maybe you have not been able in the past.  Knowledge of truth is what will set you free!  GOD says HE will not allow you to be tempted in a way you cannot resist.  As hard as it may be to accept, freedom is and has ALWAYS been available. 
 
*  It is GOD who makes the escape route for you.

HE will create a personal track for you to run on.  As you stay on that track, your freedom will be guaranteed! 
 
*  You can do it!

How do I know?  Because, as the children's song says, "The Bible tells me so."  And I have personally been there.  And because if you are still reading this, you have been given all the necessary strength from the LORD to guarantee success!  

Steps -  (You knew there would be steps)

 
1.  Pray in your own words and ask GOD for your deliverance.  Tell HIM you are serious.  Pray in the Name of JESUS!
 
2.  Get help from a Pastor or Bible Believing Licensed Counselor.  Be sure they believe in the Word of GOD as pertains to your freedom.  If you have doubts, find someone else.  You knew I was going to say this, so get over any past bad experiences and get yourself immediately into the Christian Church of your choice and attend Services every time they open the doors!  If you are thinking this is a bit too narrow minded, take this with grace:  "Heal yourself then!"
 
3.  Saturate yourself with the Word of GOD.  At the bottom of this page is a list of Scripture that you should keep with you at all times.  JESUS defeated Satan in the wilderness by using the Word!  You can too!!!
 
4.  Pray all the time.  This means talk to GOD.  Tell HIM how you feel .  HE knows already and HE is no wimp, HE is CREATOR GOD!
 
5.  Remember GOD is your partner in your freedom!  HE wants this for you more than you do.  Every time you draw close to HIM, HE comes running, so to speak.
 
6.  Live a life of praise.  Turn off negative words, especially about yourself.  GOD takes whatever "raw material" we give HIM and creates a masterpiece every time.  JESUS Never Fails!!!
 
7.  Take time to forgive every one that has ever done you wrong.  A person who hates those that hate them, or refuses to forgive all who have done horrible things to them will never enter into GOD'S Heaven!  I am sure this may well be a lengthy process for you, begin now.
