Is So Good
Psalm 116
1
I love the LORD, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
2
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
3
The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.
4
Then I called on the name of the LORD :
"O LORD, save me!"
Have you ever been in a dire situation? I
am sure you have and I am sure that if you haven't, you will. Life has a
way of bringing them on. We receive many prayer requests from folks who's
"backs are against the wall" so to speak.
David (the author of the Psalm above) most
certainly had his moments of desperation. In this case, the "cords of
death" were entangling him. The "anguish of the grave" had
come upon him.
But he did something very curious. He
cried out to the LORD for mercy. He
called on the Name of the LORD!
Today, maybe we would say, "Help! JESUS
Help!"
I can say from personal experience, the LORD
never ignores that cry! HE always
comes into the situation and makes it better. Always! Absolutely
every time.
Without any question or doubt, the GOD
we serve is perfectly faithful every time to answer our cry for help. HE
did it then, and HE will do it now! Call
on the name of JESUS if you
have the right to do so. Oh, how do you get that
right? By becoming HIS.
